Headstand Drill Floor

Headstand with Knees on Arms (Frog)

The gymnast’s hands and forehead should be on the floor in a triangular position. They should slowly raise their bent legs, putting their knees onto the upper arms or elbows. In the final position the forehead is on the floor, the upper body is in vertical, and the bent legs are leaned against the arms. The main goal is to keep equilibrium and improve balance.

Headstand Drill Floor

Headstand on Wall

The gymnast should do a headstand in front of a wall and lean against it with pointed toes. The toes should be the only part of the body touching the wall. This helps the gymnast perform the skill without having to worry about maintaining as much balance. The gymnast’s body should be in a hollow position with their legs tight, hands pushing against the floor, and their buttocks squeezed.
